James Marshall
Managing Director

James founded Marprop in late 2007 following 15 years’ experience in commercial property markets in Australia, commencing in property development and then commercial investment sales and finally funds and investment management. James is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is Director and Responsible Manager of Marprop Financial Services Pty Ltd, a holder of Australian Financial Services Licence (no. 487440). Prior to founding Marprop, James gained experience in roles as an Executive and Director with Savills, Chesterton International, Project Control Group and Divome. 


Nik Megay
CFO

Nik has over 18 years of experience in financial management and tax. Nik commenced his career in chartered environments, specialising in corporate and international tax with a particular focus on mergers & acquisitions, later moving into commercial roles with Macquarie Bank and Oracle. More recently, Nik spent the last seven years with Centuria Capital where he played a key role in executing a number of growth initiatives, including equity and debt capital markets transactions, and led the finance and reporting function for Centuria’s $14 billion unlisted funds platform across Australia and New Zealand. Nik is a member of Chartered Accountants ANZ.


Matthew Banks
Advisory Board

Matthew Banks has over 30 years of real estate experience, spanning commercial, retail, residential, and industrial sectors. At Macquarie Group, he oversaw global real estate funds, investments, and projects, serving on boards and the MIRA Real Estate Committee. He led key divisions during Macquarie's global expansion and played a pivotal role in joint ventures, capital structures, development, and construction. Prior to Macquarie, he was CEO of Lend Lease Corporation’s Real Estate Investment businesses in the U.S., Asia, and Australia.


Darren Holland
Advisory Board

Darren Holland is a high-performance coach and property entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in building winning cultures, developing leaders, and scaling businesses. He coaches CEOs on goal setting, time management, accountability, and culture. As CEO and co-founder of Aventus, an ASX-listed retail property company, Darren grew it from one centreto 55, valued at $4.5 billion after its 2022 merger with HomeCo. He previously played a key role at Homemaker Retail Group and holds a Bachelor of Business (Land Economics) from the University of Western Sydney.


Joshua Roberts
Asset Manager

Joshua Roberts is a results-driven real estate professional with over 17 years of experience managing commercial property portfolios across Asia and Australia, with assets exceeding $2 billion. At Mirvac, he led a $500M+ portfolio, optimizing performance and tenant retention, while at 151 Property, he achieved occupancy rates above 95% and double-digit asset value growth. His leadership at M&G Real Estate saw the successful management of a multi-billion-dollar portfolio across Asia, and at Eastspring Investments Vietnam, he delivered returns exceeding 20%. Known for his strategic approach and stakeholder collaboration, Joshua consistently exceeds corporate objectives in complex, dynamic markets and is an important asset to the Marprop team.


David Wong
Financial Controller

David is a member of Chartered Accountants ANZ who brings to Marprop over 15 years of experience across financial management, planning and analysis. David commenced his career at KPMG where he supported private clients across various industries before finding his passion in the property industry and moving to TOGA Group, and most recently, to Scentre Group where he lead teams focusing on financial reporting, forecasting and investment analysis. David’s commercial acumen and industry knowledge will continue to support Marprop’s vision and success.


Melinda Mangelsdorf
Executive

Melinda came onboard the Marprop team in 2021 to lend her expertise and provide unflinching support to the entire organizational structure. Her more than two-decade-long career spans an impressive variety of industries including the opulence of luxury hotels, the rigor of finance, the intricacy of investigation, and the discipline of security. This vast expanse of acquired skills and expertise are now conferred to Marprop, governing the strategic operational activities of the business. The wealth of knowledge she brings from her extensive corporate journey is instrumental in continuing to deliver excellence and drive the business forward.


Brandon Shneier
Finance Manager

Brandon is a qualified Chartered Accountant with 6 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, and strategic financial management. Over the years, he has developed expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, reporting, and compliance, ensuring the delivery of accurate and insightful financial solutions. Passionate about driving operational efficiency and supporting business growth, Brandon leverages his knowledge and experience to contribute to the success of the company and its stakeholders.


Edward Banks
Associate Asset Manager

Ed joined Marprop in 2023 as the Associate Asset Manager bringing a solid foundation in finance and a commitment to excellence to the team. Holding a Bachelor of Business degree with a major in Finance from the University of Technology Sydney, Ed possesses the skills necessary to navigate the intricacies of real estate investment to drive performance and deliver value to stakeholders.


Melanie Maculi
Senior Accountant

Melanie joined Marprop in August 2022 as a Senior Accountant, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to our offshore team based in Manila, Philippines. Before joining Marprop, she honed her skills over eight years with an Australian client, Dominos Pizza, where she progressed from Accounts Payable Officer to a Corporate Accountant. During this time, she performed a variety of critical functions, including general accounts analysis and reconciliations, monthly accruals, and the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions. Melanie also assisted in month-end closing and maintained correspondence with vendors, ensuring timely responses to inquiries. Melanie holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration, complementing her Bachelor's degree in Accounting Technology. This strong educational foundation, combined with their extensive professional experience, enables her to contribute significantly to Marprop’s strategic and operational goals.


Christopher Lupisan
Property Accountant

Chris has vast working experience ranging from Finance for 15 years as General and Tax Accountant and Operations of 7 years as Logistics Officer. His strong accounting background comes from Finance and Back Office Service industries that helps and equip him his expertise in general accounting practice while his tax accounting knowledge comes from Gasoline and Ecommerce Industries. A hardworking individual with high regards to the authenticity of others in the organization. 


Lachlan Bonser
Company Secretary

CA, ATI, JP – Lachlan Bonser has acted as a Company Secretary with Marprop entities since 2018. He has worked with businesses in Australia as an external advisor and maintains a role on client Advisory Boards. He has over 19 years of experience in Chartered Accounting and Business Advisory Services. In 2016 Lachlan established a Chartered Accounting Business, LB Advisory Chartered Accountants working closely with clients on establishing and maintaining reliable financial reporting and governance procedures. Lachlan is a member of Chartered Accountants ANZ and the Tax Institute, is a Registered Tax Agent, Registered ASIC Agent and a Justice of the Peace in NSW. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting.


Rachael Callister
Executive Assistant & Team Coordinator

Rachael joined Marprop in 2024 and is an accomplished Executive Assistant with a proven track record of supporting C-suite executives and driving marketing initiatives. Her Bachelor of Industrial Design fostered a knowledge of design and marketing, which she seamlessly integrates into her administrative excellence. With an eye for detail and a proactive, adaptable approach, Rachael ensures smooth operations while contributing beyond her primary responsibilities. She is a valuable asset in dynamic workplaces.


Perry Hume
Compliance

Perry is a seasoned professional with over 30 years' experience in financial and corporate law.  His extensive career encompasses roles as a regulator with ASIC, a lawyer, and a compliance/risk manager. Beginning his journey in the Australian Federal Police (AFP), Perry specialised as a Detective in white collar crime.  He was invited to join ASIC in 1993 and led a team of ASIC investigators and lawyers, contributing his expertise to criminal and civil actions against companies and individuals violating the Corporations Act.  In 1998 he transitioned to the private sector, holding senior legal and compliance roles with distinguished organizations such as Zurich Financial Services, Deutsche Asset Management, and BT Financial Group. This vast experience culminated in the establishment of his own consulting business, which he operated for 10 years before merging with Madison Marcus Law Firm in Sydney.  There he became the founding Partner of a new division focused on financial services legal advice. In 2024 he left Madison Marcus then established FinServ Compliance in 2024, returning to his roots in specialized financial compliance advice for his respected long term private clients.
